Russian direct regular flights to China are resumed
A Russian airline is resuming scheduled flights to the Celestial Empire: Irkutsk-Beijing and Novosibirsk-Urumqi. According to the carrier, flights will resume on 27 May, as reported by TASS.
The route from Irkutsk will be served twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays. The flight time is 3-3.5 hours. A flight from Novosibirsk to Urumqi will be operated on Saturdays. The flight will take about 2.5 hours.
More than 170 passengers will be able to board each Boeing 737-800 airliner that will fly to China.
The PRC's policy of relaxing anti-coronavirus measures has triggered a surge in business and tourism activity. Businesses and individuals are keen to renew pent-up ties with China.
