Russian Foreign Minister meets with his Brazilian counterpart on the margins of the UNGA
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a meeting with Brazilian Foreign Minister Carlos França on Wednesday, September 21, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (GA), as reported on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The diplomats touched upon a number of topical issues related to strategic cooperation. In the course of the dialogue, the ministers discussed the current state of the bilateral relations as well as their further development. They confirmed their mutual intention to implement all the agreements, which have been reached following the Russian-Brazilian summit talks in February this year.
Lavrov and França also reaffirmed their readiness to strengthen cooperation between Russia and Brazil at various international platforms, including BRICS, the G20, the United Nations and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
In addition, the Russian Foreign Minister congratulated his Brazilian counterpart and expressed his best wishes on the occasion of the recent landmark date, the 200th anniversary of Brazil's Independence.
On 3 October, Brazil and Russia will celebrate the 194th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
