Russian scientists develop new medicine

It is an antibacterial drug for the treatment of complicated infections

The development of Russian scientists is intended for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by antibiotic-resistant microorganisms.

Studies have shown a favourable safety profile as well as high efficacy of the drug. The medicine should help in cases of antimicrobial resistance.

Resistance to antimicrobial drugs is a biological phenomenon that occurs when microbes, such as bacteria and fungi, acquire the ability to defeat drugs designed to kill them. This is reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.

According to the Ministry of Health, the drug is intended for the treatment of bacterial infections and is effective against antibiotic-resistant bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae.
