Saudi Arabia grants premium residence to 2,645 healthcare professionals from 56 countries
Saudi Arabia has awarded premium residency, informally known as the “Saudi Green Card", to 2,645 healthcare workers from 56 countries, announced Saudi Arabia's Health Minister Fahd Al-Jalajel. This is reported by Arab News.
This strategic move is part of the Kingdom’s broader efforts to attract and retain exceptional professionals in critical health fields, as highlighted in the minister’s statement. The premium residency initiative plays a pivotal role in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, with a focus on enhancing healthcare and ensuring knowledge transfer to local professionals.
Fahd Al-Jalajel emphasised that these highly skilled healthcare workers contribute significantly to the transfer of international expertise to Saudi professionals, ensuring the growth and development of the country’s healthcare system.
The awarded healthcare professionals fall under the Special Talent Residency category, which offers a renewable visa-free stay in Saudi Arabia every five years. Additional benefits of premium residency include the ability to sponsor parents, spouses, and children under 25, as well as the freedom to own property, conduct business, and issue visit visas for relatives.
Since its introduction in 2019, the Premium Residency Centre has expanded to offer various residency categories, such as gifted residency, investor residency, entrepreneur residency, real estate owner residency, limited duration residency, and unlimited duration residency.
By attracting top-tier international talent, Saudi Arabia is poised to continue its transformation into a global hub for healthcare while simultaneously offering a high quality of life for both residents and their families.
