Saudi Arabia has second highest level of IT development among G20 countries
Saudi Arabia has been ranked second among the G20 countries in the 2024 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Development Index, as reported by Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The kingdom is also ranked first in the Effective Communications and second in the Integrated Communications section. Last year, Saudi Arabia also ranked second in this ranking.
The ICT Index is published annually by the International Telecommunication Union, an organisation under the auspices of the United Nations. The report analyses the economies of 170 countries in terms of information sector development.
The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) notes that the existing progress in the field of information technology shows the high level of development of digital infrastructure in the Kingdom and is the result of active attraction of investments in the information technology sector and the implementation of consistent government policies in this field.
