Saudi Arabia's aviation industry to create 35,000 new jobs

Industry leaders gathered at the Future Aviation Forum

In 2023, the aviation industry in Saudi Arabia generated US$32.2 billion in tourism income, which in turn boosted other important sectors of the country's economy by US$21 billion. This is reported by Arab News.

According to a General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) report, the aviation industry in the Kingdom supported around 958,000 jobs nationwide and provided US$53 billion to the national economy.

The GACA experts project that, with investments in six specialised airports, the sector will generate around US$2 billion in GDP and 35,000 new jobs by 2030.

During the event, it was also revealed that Saudi Arabia's airports, which are currently built to accommodate 120 million people, should be able to handle over 300 million passengers by 2030.
