Scientists from Russia will participate in the Second Conclave of Young Scientists of SCO Member States
In October, India will host the Second Conclave of Young Scholars of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Member States. The conclave is one of the SCO's first major academic conferences.
Participants in the event will be able to share their scientific achievements through presentations in several areas. The sessions will include discussions on key issues in agriculture, aspects of environmental protection, as well as natural resource management. In addition, the use of artificial intelligence will be an important topic of discussion. Participants will also talk about green energy and healthcare.
There are 25 applications from Russia to participate in the Conclave. This is reported by CGTN, a partner of the TV BRICS network.
"I will be able to learn from my colleagues and share my personal experience. Maybe we can make some acquaintances, which can then lead to joint work - possibly joint projects," said Semyon Gorbunov, a junior researcher at IMET RAS.
Young teachers, engineers, scientists, technologists, innovators and more are invited to participate in the forthcoming scientific conference. An important condition is age: researchers must not be older than 40 years.
It is noted that the Conclave will bring together innovative minds from all SCO member states. The platform will propose and consider ideas to solve specific problems of the organisation's member states. The conclave hopes to lay the foundations of SCO's scientific identity and to create and develop its own network of young talent.
Anatoly Vasserman, State Duma deputy and member of the Committee on Education, expressed the hope that the forthcoming scientific conference will be a success. He expects that "some new forms of cooperation will be found". Vasserman added that this would allow young scientists and innovators to work closely together. In addition, he said, new scientific schools and traditions could be formed.
The conclave will be held in a hybrid format: in person and online. Offline events will be held in Bangalore from 10 to 14 October.
Recall that last year the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation celebrated its 20th anniversary. Former SCO secretary general Rashid Alimov, who held the post in 2016-2018, said the organisation's main task was to ensure security, stability, sustainable development of countries between the three oceans. The organisation's policies affect almost 45% of the world's population.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is a regional international grouping comprising Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The SCO has been an observer at the UN General Assembly since 2004. The official working languages of the organisation are Russian and Chinese.
