Skolkovo has created the fastest four-legged robot on the planet

Robot dogs are becoming more popular in Russia and abroad

“We are the distributor of the fourth industrial revolution, all technologies related to microcomputing, quantum computers and robots, respectively. We find start-up manufacturers, mainly from Asia: China, Taiwan, South Korea. We find their developments, conclude distributions with them — exclusive or not, depending on the conditions they give, and import them here, to Russia. We are the founders of the robotic dog market in Russia and the CIS countries,” said Ilya Kainov, product manager of a Russian diversified IT company.

In this laboratory, a “brain” is added to the dog’s “body”: walking bionics, various functions, attachments. According to the engineers, the robot is trained like a child.

In total, six different types of models are produced here, or, as they are jokingly called, “subspecies”, as with the animal kingdom. And each has its own scope: from entertainment to industrial.

Today, one of the most popular models is the A1 robot dog: it is actively used in the field of education. At universities and in research clubs, it is used to train future robotic engineers — a profession in demand, highly paid and prestigious.

Another model, the AlienGo robot dog, is larger than its "brother" in size and has a longer battery life. Heavy and load-lifting, AlienGo is designed for the industrial sector.

“The model with a robot arm is the first such dog in Russia. A dog is just a platform that can move to inaccessible or dangerous places, the dog delivers this hand there, which enables some manipulations with high precision. For example, with the help of such a robot, it is possible to solve problems in the field of gas and oil refining,” said Andrey Chubko, project manager at a Russian diversified IT company.

In addition, a new model has been launched here — Go1, it is considered the next version of the A1 robot already known to us. Previously, each dog was made by hand, now manufacturers have been able to switch to mass production without reducing quality, but with a reduction in price.

The initial cost of the A1 model is 900 thousand rubles while Go1 can be purchased for 300 thousand rubles.

It is noted that this is the fastest four-legged robot on the planet now, it runs at a speed of 17 km/h.
