South Africa increases agricultural exports by 6% in the first quarter

The Agricultural Business Chamber of South Africa (Agbiz) pointed to an increase in volumes and prices for exported products

Products topping the export list on the African continent included corn, grain meal and pellets, sugar, prepared foods, apples and pears, fruit juices, wheat, cider, and other fermented beverages, as well as soybean oil and other products. This is reported by Pretoria News, a partner of TV BRICS.

The main exported products include grapes, wine, fruit juices, apples and pears, nuts, apricots, and cherries.

Experts highlighted that South Africa was not involved in unilateral trade because the country imported various agricultural products.

The main products imported by South Africa in the first quarter are similar to those that the country imports annually. These are, among other things, wheat, rice, palm oil, and poultry products.

According to estimates, blueberry exports are expected to grow by 10 per cent and apple exports by 7 per cent.
