South Africa launches education programme available for children with cancer
The Gauteng Department of Health (GDoH) stated that the new education programme aims to bridge the gap between healthcare and education for young patients battling cancer to transform their experience of treatment and improve their life quality.
The initiative will give children treated for cancer the opportunity to continue their education without interruption. This is reported by Pretoria News, a partner of TV BRICS.
This training programme has been implemented in all four academic hospitals, which have been provided with the necessary equipment and educational materials for the classes.
The number of students varies depending on the incoming patients. Each school has four qualified teachers who have been trained to support each child in their educational needs.
