Sports minister to visit China as part of working visit

Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin will pay a working visit to the People's Republic of China from March 27 to 29, as reported By TASS.

On 17 October, 2022 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an order on holding the Year of Russian-Chinese Cooperation in Sports in 2022 and 2023.

In Beijing, the Minister will meet with Gao Zhidan, director of the State Sports General Administration. The heads of sports authorities of Russia and China will discuss development of bilateral sports ties, events of the cross-year cooperation in physical culture and sports, cooperation of federations in particular sports.

The Russian delegation will visit Beijing Sports University and meet the management. The topic of the bilateral meeting will be the development of university sports and sports science.

In Chengdu, the Minister will visit the university of the same name and meet the Governor of Sichuan Province, Huang Qiang, to discuss development of regional and cross-border cooperation between Russia and China.
