Thailand expands use of artificial intelligence in government agencies
The country is developing its digital infrastructure and plans to create a system capable of delivering more services at a lower cost

Thailand plans to make greater use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the work of government agencies. The authorities expect that the technology will improve the quality of service delivery and make the work of government departments more transparent. This was reported by Vietnam News Agency (VNA), a partner of TV BRICS.
Public services are gradually being moved online, electronic meetings are being permitted, and the rules governing electronic transactions are being updated, the report notes.
Thailand has identified three main areas for AI development. The first is the protection of government data and the use of a dedicated Thai-language model. The second is the automation of administrative processes to reduce costs and develop the digital economy. The third is the consolidation and analysis of data from various government departments to inform public policy decisions.
At the same time, the authorities are reviewing around 7,600 regulatory acts to identify and repeal rules that hinder the adoption of digital technologies.
In the future, AI is set to be used to reform the civil service – automating work, cutting administrative costs and reducing the number of routine tasks.
