The Brazilian-Russian school in Rio will celebrate Russia Day
The intercultural Brazilian-Russian school in Rio will celebrate Russia Day on Friday 10 June. A project with the same name, "Russia Day", will be carried out by two groups of secondary school classes as a way of bringing the school community closer to the culture, history, art and national traditions of Russia.
On the day, the pupils will present to the audience several varied performances that they have been preparing over several weeks. Students will be divided into groups covering different areas of knowledge about Russia. In addition to posters, models, an exhibition of items and presentations, there will be two traditional Russian dances and a tasting of traditional dishes.
Students will discuss Slavic costumes, scientific achievements, the geography of Russia, traditional Russian food, significant Russian locations and talk about famous Russian personalities.
The target audience of the event includes students from other classes at the school, students from the Russian language department of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) and the Russian community in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
