On Saturday, 4 November, an award ceremony was held at the House of Folk Art. Summarising the results of the III International Film Festival "A Rendezvous with Russia. Territory of People's Unity", Alexander Ilyin, director, founder and head of the International Film Festival "Territory of People's Unity", said: "This festival has surpassed all previous ones in terms of its scale. We expanded the number of nominations, and this year the competition included feature-length and short films in addition to documentaries. In addition to film screenings, we had a huge number of master classes, a film lab, and a pitching session. All the events of the festival were gladly attended by young people, and this is the main audience we rely on. In my opinion, this is our main success, as the festival is aimed at the future. I hope that we will not lower the bar that we have reached at this festival, and new heights await us in the future."

TV BRICS documentary "Magadan's Silver" (2023, 26 min., directed by Andrey Porshnyak about shift workers who work in the Far North won in the special category "Press Prize".

"It is very pleasant that the work of the TV BRICS team was recognised by the expert jury. Recognition by colleagues - the professional community - always inspires further creativity. We are also grateful that this film festival helped to introduce the heroes of the film "Magadan Silver" to a huge audience. Heroes, through whose life stories we told the audience about Russia, about the romance of the Far North, about the development of the mining industry"

Ksenia Komissarova Editor-in-chief of TV BRICS

At the festival, the international network TV BRICS presented a special programme of films by directors from the BRICS countries.

The audience saw the film "In Return, Just a Book" (45 min., directed by Shiny Jacob Benjamin, India).
"A documentary film about Dostoevsky was presented to your attention. You all know him very well. The film is based on the novel "Like a Psalm" by Perumbadavam Sridharan. I would like to thank the festival team for the opportunity to share our film," said Shiny Jacob Benjamin.

In addition, there was a screening of the film "Between Worlds. The Life and Work of Elena Antipova" (60 min, directed by Guilherme Reis, Brazil).

"It is a great pleasure for me to take part in this festival and to show again in Russia the story of a woman of Russian origin who revolutionised education in Brazil, particularly in our state of Minas Gerais. It is a great pleasure for me to participate with you in this screening. Let the film be the link through which we will be able to re-tell the story of a Russian woman in the country where she was born," Guilherme Reis stressed.

"Our film is about the love that bubbles up between animals, between people - between two brothers and between the protagonist and his wife. I think there can be a very large amount of love behind a harsh character. It's always very interesting when you film about a person. I try to understand through the camera how the characters manage to achieve the qualities that we film them for - how they manage to love so much, to achieve success. The camera is looking closely, trying to solve the riddle of harmony," said Svetlana Kharchevina, director of the film "Mikhail Kozlov. Horses are Fate", which also took part in the competition programme of the festival.

In addition, as part of the film festival, on 3 November at the Youth Centre of the Arkhangelsk Region, Ksenia Komissarova, the editor-in-chief of TV BRICS, held a master class "Documentary film and industry: how to promote a key economic sector in the global information space with the help of media content. The experience of TV BRICS in the production and global distribution of non-fiction films about industry in the Far East ("Gold", "More Precious than Gold", "Silver of Magadan", "Golden Coast of the Arctic")".

Ksenia Komissarova spoke about the media network team's work on documentary films that comprehensively cover the process of mining - gold and silver. After watching all the films, viewers will get acquainted with the stages of the production process, the domestic approach to preserving the environment in industrial areas and those who work in the North on a rotational basis.

TV BRICS already has more than 60 media partners, and the media network supports about 20 international partner film festivals in Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Argentina, Venezuela, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Kazakhstan, Armenia and other countries.

The international editorial board of TV BRICS regularly produces and distributes media content and news in Russian, English, Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish through the national media of its partners.
