The "King of South African Rock" Arno Carstens has released a new album

South African rock artist Arno Carstens has released his seventh studio album. 'Out of the Light into the Night' was created gradually, by releasing singles in stages before coming together as a finished project. The album combines Arno's love of energetic alt-pop production on one side of the spectrum, and his ability to create anthemic acoustic ballads on the other.

It's important that 'Out of the Light into the Night' will be Arnaud's first solo album in English since 2014's album 'Lightning Prevails.' The album includes singles 'Go Easy Love', 'Empire of the Night', 'Out of the Blue' and his latest track 'Reason'.

"I started working on the album in 2019, planning to release it in 2020.  But that year was a whirlwind that threw me off course. It gave me time to re-analyse the songs and spend time on finishing touches. These songs are the fruits of change, some were written at home and some in the studio. We had to make do with what was available and that was often limited and we had to learn new, remote ways of working.  I think it all added a special layer to the new songs that sets this album apart from others I've written.  It's a creative piece, created at a time when boundaries were questioned, but courage helped us all get through it," the musician revealed.

"The lead single of the album, 'Reason', is the 6th single we have released. That song practically wrote itself.  In the midst of everything that happened, we all had to deal with the frightening onslaught that destroyed many of our livelihoods and the stress that it caused. As a result, I think what happened, and what is still happening, has forced people to come face to face with unresolved and new problems. Putting the past aside, looking to the future is what it's all about," Arnaud added.

To celebrate the album's release, join Arno and his band for an hour-long live performance of 'Out of the Light into the Night' on Friday 26 November at 8pm.

The performance will include hits 'Go Easy Love', 'Empire of the Night', 'Out of the Blue' and his latest single 'Reason'.  You can watch the broadcast on the artist's official website.
