The last exhibits of the Hermitage returned to Russia from abroad
The latest exhibits from the State Hermitage Museum that were abroad have been returned to the museum, Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said in a Telegram feed.
"The last Hermitage objects from the exhibition in Europe have returned to Russia. The paintings "Portrait of a Young Woman" and "Temptation" were presented in Italy at the "Titian and the Image of the Woman" exhibition. It was held at the Royal Palace in Milan (Palazzo Reale)," she wrote.
Lyubimova clarified that these canvases were the only items from the collections of Russian state museums presented at the exhibition, and the last exhibits from the Hermitage, which were until that time on the territory of European states. This is reported by TASS.
“Earlier, Pablo Picasso's "Young Lady" also returned from Italy to Russia. This work, from the Hermitage collection, was exhibited at an exhibition of the same name held in Rome," the minister added.
She thanked the Foreign Ministry, the Federal Customs Service, the Russian government and the transport companies that carried out the transport. Earlier, paintings by avant-garde artists returned to Russia from an exhibition in Seoul.
