The ostrich-marathon runner
It could have been the winner! African ostrich, watching the participants of Cape Argus Tour cycling marathon, could not overcome its gusto and ran out on the track of thecycling marathon held in South Africa.
As the correspondent of tvbrics.com reports with reference to the website quibbll.com,it just jumped out of the bushes and joined the cycling competition. Cyclists-road racerswere shocked!
Sure, marathon is a competition for endurance, and an ostrich never lacks strength and cultivation. And the speed of the ostrich has for nothing on that of the marathoners. This bird of 150 kg can run up to 70 kilometers per hour, and marathoner’s 50kilometersper hour are nothing. Alexei Mishchenko, one of theparticipants of Cape Argus Tourcycling marathon, who managed to make video of the feathered "opponent”, agrees with it.
"At first it was a little scary, but then I thought I would fall off the bike with laughter. There was no problem for the ostrich to keep a speed of 50 km/h. I think it would run 70 km/h without sweating. I guess it wanted to show off to its girlfriend. I bet she was impressed," said Alexey Mishchenko.
