The Prime Minister of India was awarded with the Seoul Peace Prize of 2018

The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi was awarded with the prestigious Seoul Peace Prize of 2018 in recognition of his contribution to the growth of the Indian and world economies.

According to The Times of India, the initiators of the award, the Seoul Peace Prize Cultural Foundation, commemorated the introduction of ‘ modinomics’ by the Prime Minister, which affected “the reduction of social and economic inequality between the rich and the poor in the country”.

According to the fund’s leaders, Narendra Modi was selected for his efforts to improve the lives of 1.35 billion people in India, to establish economic cooperation with various countries to improve the well-being of people and promote peace in the world, and for his significant contribution to the stability of the Asia –Pacific region by promoting international cooperation based on diplomatic policy.

In addition to the honorary title of the winner, the Prime Minister will become the owner of a commemorative plaque and honorarium of US$200,000.

The Seoul Peace Prize is given biennially. Narendra Modi became its 14th owner.
