The results of the 12th "Rendezvous with Russia" travel film festival are summed up
The XII International Film Festival "Rendezvous with Russia" ended in the Vologda region. The media partner of the competition is TV BRICS INTERNATIONAL MEDIA NETWORK. Since 2020, the festival has established a special TV BRICS nomination "For the development of the tourism film genre". This year, the winner in this category was the documentary film by director Vyacheslav Ross entitled Elbrus Is Waiting for You. The film will be shown on TV BRICS and on TV BRICS partner channels in the BRICS countries.
About the film:
Elbrus is waiting for you, 2021, 25 min, Moscow, 12+ (director Vyacheslav Ross, production: Upravlenie al'pinistskih lagerej).
The film's director talked about the background to the film and its conception.
"For many years the Soviet alpinist training system was considered the best in the world. When we gave it up, we got not even a problem, but a real disaster. There are no rules in the mountains, uniform and obligatory for all. Badly prepared people go to the mountain peaks. But there are groups of enthusiasts who successfully revive the best traditions of mountaineering in Russia. We decided to use one of such groups as an example to show the right approach to preparation of young mountaineers: from training up to climbing a peak, to meet people to whom you entrust your life when going to the mountains. We made a film about dreamers. About people who don't want to put up with the routine of everyday life," said Ross.
He also expressed gratitude to TV BRICS network for the opportunity to increase the potential audience of the film.
"We are happy and grateful to TV BRICS for being able to appreciate our film 'Elbrus is Waiting for You' and giving it the opportunity to reach an audience spanning three continents!" - said the director of the winning film.
