The State Duma Chairman Suggests Introducing a Visa-free Regime for Tourists Between Russia and India

VyacheslavVolodin, the State Duma Chairman, during his working visit to New Delhi suggested introducing a visa-free regime between Russia and India for tourists. The head of the Lower House of Parliament is confident that this will increase the flow of tourists between the countries, as reported by Sibnovosti.ru, with reference to Interfax.

“The number of tourists who come from Russia to India is growing, as well as the number of tourists who come to Moscow, but this is not the number that could come if we created more comfortable conditions, less delay during visa processing, let us also think about it,” as Volodin said at a meeting with Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice-President, the Chairman of the Council of States of the Parliament of India.

The Chairman of the State Duma invited his Indian colleagues to continue negotiations on this isssue, but now in Moscow. Venkaiah Naidu received an official invitation to visit Russia from VyacheslavVolodin.

May we remind, that VyacheslavVolodin, the State Duma Chairman, is in India, where the fifth session of the Russian-Indian Inter-Parliamentary Commission took place the day before. The press service of the State Duma reported that the parties noted the dynamic development of the Russian-Indian cooperation, including the inter-parliamentary relationship.
