The winners of the Expert of the Year 2024 award are announced
The winners of the XIII Expert of the Year Award were awarded in Moscow on 30 October. They included representatives of media partners of the TV BRICS International Media Network.
Thus, the awards for the first place in the nomination "International Media" went to Wang Bin, Director of Eurasia Bureau of the China Media Group (CMG) and German Hermin Ferras Alvarez, Head Correspondent of Latin American News Agency Prensa Latina (Cuba). Second place went to Mohamed Samir Khedr, Executive Editor of Daily News Egypt.
Wang Bin, in an exclusive comment to TV BRICS, stressed that CMG is honoured to be involved in the award.
"We are happy that our activities aimed at strengthening friendship between countries have been appreciated by our Russian colleagues. We will continue to work in this direction and together with our partners, including TV BRICS, we will further achieve success," said the director of CMG's Eurasian Bureau.
Ferras Alvarez also expressed pride that Prensa Latina is involved in such an event as the Expert of the Year award. He noted that the main task of the agency in the era of globalisation is to tell the truth about the world and, in particular, about the countries of the Global South that are striving to change humanity's view of reality.
The winners in the International Projects nomination were Liana Fanilevna Beltran-Belskaya, media projects producer at Polymetal International PLC, and Ndivhuho Tshikovhi, staff scientist at Durban University of Technology (South Africa) as well as TV BRICS expert. The second place award was presented to Li Ge, the director of the Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival.
"It is great that our country has such an award, because behind any activity there is a person, and to thank them for their professionalism, as I think, is very important. It is inspiring and gives an opportunity to create even more breakthrough projects," Liana Beltran-Belskaya emphasised in a conversation with the international media network.
She also drew attention to the fact that two international nominations were established at this year's award.
The award received an international status on the initiative of TV BRICS. There were 13 other nominations in the award: "Industry", “Finance and Investments", "IT and Telecommunications”, “Construction and Development”, “Retail and Trade”, “Tourism, Services and HoReCa”, “Citizens' Initiatives, Corporate Social Responsibility and International Activities”, “Power Industry, Transport and Logistics”, “Healthcare”, “Sport and Quality of Life”, “Science and Innovation”, “Ecology and Territorial Development” and “Length of Service and Mentorship”. A total of 2,752 applications were submitted.
The Expert of the Year award is aimed at identifying leaders who have realised breakthrough ideas in business and public initiatives. This year, for the first time, projects from foreign countries, including Egypt, China, Cuba, and South Africa, took part. TV BRICS acts as an international information partner of the award.
