The World Production of Coffee Arabica Will Decline
The International Coffee Organization estimated the production deficit of this product at 500 thousand bags for 2019-2020, reports a tvbrics.com correspondent with the reference to canalrural.
Forecast: since October, the world production of coffee will drop almost by 1% over a year and will make 167.4 million bags (1 bag = 60 kg).
At the same time, production of arabica coffee will drop by 2.7%, and production of conilon (a species of coffee) will grow approximately by 1.5%, by estimates of the same organization. In South America, a 3.2% decline of coffee production is predicted, which will make about 78 million bags.
A forecast like this is based on natural factors, specifically in connection with a two-year fruitful cycle of arabica coffee in Brazil.
In Asia and Oceania, the IOC expects growth of coffee production by 1.9%, first of all, due to the harvest in Indonesia and Vietnam. In Central America and Mexico, growth by 0.9% can also be recorded, which will make 21.5 million bags, while in Africa, production drops by 0.6%.
It is expected that global demand for coffee over 2019-2020 will also drop in connection with the weakened economy, in particular, in developing countries.
For your information: Brazil cultivates numerous species of coffee, and it was here where many of them appeared: Mundo Novo, Yellow Bourbon, Caturra and Catuai. Coffee grows in 14 main regions, in seven states of the country. Each region of cultivation influences the taste of Brazilian coffee, its aroma, and even quality.
Conilon is a Brazilian region in the State of Espírito Santo. Conilon Coffee, which is the Brazilian Robusta, grows here, generally on small plots of land and at a low altitude.
