Thousand dancers, musicians and designers to take part in the KizzAfro Art Week of African Culture in Moscow
The KizzAfro Art Week of African Culture will be held in Moscow. It is held with a view to promoting African culture in contemporary Russian society and the establishment of important social and cultural ties between creative people of Russia and African countries.
The main objectives of the event are to create an enabling environment for cultural and business cooperation between the peoples of Africa and Russia, to familiarize a wide audience with the customs and traditions of African countries, the development of friendly relations between the peoples of the world through the African culture and art.
According to the General Producer of the KizzAfro Art Week of African Culture Nadezhda Kuzmina, the participants of the festival event will be immersed in the wonderful world of African culture. Around one thousand dancers, musicians, designers from various African countries and Russia will take part in the project. The culmination will be the Dreams of Africa gala show. The evening will feature musicians from Cape Verde, Nigeria, Zambia and Guinea, accompanied by the 'Kaposoka' symphony orchestra from Angola. The event will feature traditional dances and modern choreography from professional dancers from Angola, Rwanda and Russia.
"The creators of the largest festival of African dance will now launch a new major project, KizzAfro Art Week of African Culture. From a successful dance project, a large-scale forum of public diplomacy and culture has already emerged," said Konstantin Klimenko, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Week of African Culture, Rector of the Eurasian International University.
On Friday, 2 June, an informal dialogue "Russia - Africa", involving ambassadors of African states, representatives of federal and regional authorities of Russia, artists, representatives of the business community, including members of the African International Club, will be held as part of the gala event. The event will contribute to the successful preparations for the Russia-Africa summit involving African heads of state and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
