Trade between China and Latin America and the Caribbean rises by 7.7% in 2022

The region is the second largest destination for Chinese investment abroad

Trade between China, Latin America and the Caribbean grew by 7.7 per cent during 2022 to more than $485 billion, according to official statistics.

According to the report, presented at a business forum in Guangdong province, more than 3,000 companies from the Asian giant operate in the region, including a large number of private organisations.

The region is also currently the second largest destination for Chinese investment overseas, with forecasts pointing to steady growth in the short term.

Xu Lejiang, executive vice president of the All-China Industry and Commerce Association, urged domestic companies to contribute to sustainable cooperation with the subcontinent and meet their social obligations in the implementation of projects, as reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.
