Travel time via Moscow-St. Petersburg to be 2 hours 15 minutes

Trains will run every 15 minutes

A meeting was held in Russia on the construction of the Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed railway (HSR).

Trains between Moscow and St Petersburg will run every 10 – 15 minutes. The journey time will be reduced to 2 hours and 15 minutes. This is reported on the official website of the President of Russia.

Vladimir Putin said that the project should be the starting point for the development of high-speed railway service in Russia.

"This is fundamentally different already, of course, the level of technology and transport services, modern jobs and advanced competences, new opportunities for citizens and our regions"

Later, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the construction of the high-speed railway will raise the standard of living of many regions.

"Tens of thousands of new jobs will be created, the best resources of our country will be used on the construction of infrastructure and trains. For more than 30 million residents of those regions where the high-speed railway will pass, the quality of life will significantly improve," Sobyanin wrote in social networks.

Later, similar branches will be extended to Ryazan, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Adler and even Minsk.
