Tunisia prepares its first biennial transparency report by the end of 2024
The country is adapting to the impacts of climate change
Tunisia's first Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) will be finalised by the end of 2024 and submitted to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). According to Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP), a partner of TV BRICS, this was announced by Tunisian Environment Minister Leila Chikhaoui.
Following the statements of the officials, Tunisia has made significant progress in harmonising its domestic climate policy with its global obligations, particularly in terms of document preparation and submission.
A national strategy for carbon-neutral and climate-resilient development, a national transparency framework, a national inventory of greenhouse gas emissions, and other papers are among them.
The Biennial Transparency Report is a key tool for raising climate ambition and strict monitoring of public policies for climate change mitigation.
