TV BRICS and GAUGN will hold a joint panel discussion on current trends in the media sphere
On 14 September, at 16:00, TV BRICS and the State Academic University for the Humanities (GAUGN) will hold a joint panel discussion on "Current trends in the development of the media sphere in the context of global challenges of our time".
Viktor Denisenko, Head of the International Relations Department, GAUGN will be a moderator of the event. Opening remarks will be made by Ilya Sokolshchik, Acting Rector of GAUGN.
The panelists from the TV BRICS International Media Network will be Janna Tolstikova, CEO of TV BRICS, who will deliver a speech on the topic "Meanings and forms. Content Export to Foreign Media" and Daria Ivankova, TV BRICS deputy general producer for International Cooperation, with a presentation on "Experience of interaction with national media of BRICS. Exchange of information And Promotion of the national and common agenda".
Natalia Emelianova, Vice-Rector for Strategic Communications of the State University of Communications and Information Technology, will speak on the topic "The BRICS media policy as an element of the supra-national agenda".
At the end of the session, a cooperation agreement between TV BRICS and GAUGN will be signed by Janna Tolstikova, CEO of TV BRICS, and Ilya Sokolshchik, Acting Rector of GAUGN.
About 50 students and professors are planning to participate offline.
TV BRICS actively cooperates with leading universities of BRICS countries. In December 2021, representatives of TV BRICS held an open lecture on cooperation of the five countries in the humanitarian sphere, in particular in the field of film and television, for students of the Federal University of Integration of Latin America, Parana state.
The 21st Russia-India summit 'Russia-India: Partnership for Peace, Progress and Prosperity' was followed by an open lecture for Indian students at Stella Maris College in Chennai, India.
Last year, an open screening of "Dostoevsky Intercontinental", a documentary film by the TV BRICS joint editorial office, was held at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN, that is a part of the BRICS Network University). The film was presented for the first time in Moscow with the support of the Department of Philology of the RUDN.
In July 2022, a meeting with the editors of TV BRICS was held at the Fluminense Federal University, Brazil. Participants of the Russian as a foreign language course at the Fluminense University of Rio de Janeiro were able to ask questions about the work of the TV BRICS International Media Network in Brazil and within the BRICS.
In addition, TV BRICS actively cooperates with universities and educational institutions in the BRICS countries as part of the promotion of Russian as a foreign language. In cooperation with the international outreach project Modern Russian, teleconferences with the University of São Paulo were held. In 2022, the Russian-Brazilian school in Rio de Janeiro hosted screenings of the TV BRICS films "Unknown Stalingrad" and "BRICS in Space".
