TV BRICS and Pushkin Institute to join efforts to promote the Russian language in BRICS+ countries
On Thursday, 25 May, TV BRICS and the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute signed an agreement on cooperation on the margins of the Third Kostomarov Forum.
Ivan Polyakov, Chairman of the TV BRICS International Media Network, and Natalia Trukhanovskaya, Rector of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, acted as signatories.
The parties will promote new integration mechanisms of cooperation between the BRICS countries in the field of education in the global media space. One of the priority tasks is the popularisation of the Russian language in the far-abroad countries within the educational platform "Modern Russian".
In addition, TV BRICS and the Pushkin Institute will launch educational and informational courses on the study of Russian as a foreign language in educational institutions in the BRICS+ countries in order to promote the prestige of Russian education and popularise the Russian language, culture and literature abroad.
"On the platform of the Third Kostomarov Forum, there was a very significant event for us when we signed an agreement with TV BRICS. This is an important cooperation for us because, firstly, TV BRICS is a large profile media company which is engaged in a wide international activity, something we also do. Secondly, it is important for us because the large media nature of TV BRICS will enable us to further extend our efforts and possibilities to popularise Russian language in the world. In my opinion, the signing of today's agreement is very important for us, both for the Pushkin Institute of the Russian language and in general for that big programme of Russian language promotion abroad," said Natalia Trukhanovskaya, Rector of the Pushkin Institute.
