TV BRICS expands its partners' network on African continent
TV BRICS expands its network of partners on the African continent and starts cooperation with the largest news agency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The agreement on joint activities was signed by Malam Ali Muhammad Ali, Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and Ivan Polyakov, Chairman of TV BRICS. Earlier, Afia TV, a television channel from the South-East of Nigeria, joined the information exchange through the international media network.
The agreements reached between NAN and TV BRICS will enable the people of the country to receive up-to-date news on BRICS activities and cooperation between the BRICS member states and partners in the humanitarian and economic spheres. In turn, TV BRICS will adapt the materials coming from Abuja into foreign languages, publish them on its platforms – a multi-lingual information portal and TV channel – and disseminate them through the network, which already has over 80 media outlets from around the world.
The Managing Director of NAN, Malam Ali Muhammad Ali, expressed confidence that together with TV BRICS, it would be possible to make global changes in building a fair international media space.
"The partnership would also foster greater cooperation and collaboration between Nigeria and the BRICS countries through promoting mutual understanding and respect. Furthermore, we believe that the cooperation would result in mutually beneficial practical projects beyond content exchange," Malam Ali Muhammad Ali said.
NAN was established by the Nigerian government in 1976. It is Africa's largest news content provider. It covers events in politics, economics, culture, sports and many other areas. NAN is headquartered in Abuja, with offices in all states of the country. Foreign offices are in New York (USA), Abidjan (Ivory Coast) and Johannesburg (South Africa). NAN's partners include major media organisations in the UK, France, Germany, China, Egypt, and Turkey.
Chairman of TV BRICS Ivan Polyakov emphasised that the mission of the international media network is to promote equal cooperation between countries, disseminate objective information on humanitarian and economic activities of the member countries and partners of the association, as well as to strengthen mutual understanding between peoples. In Africa, TV BRICS cooperates with the media of Egypt, Ethiopia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Nigeria, Tunisia, and Mozambique. TV BRICS partners include the Russia-South Africa Business Council and the Black Business Council, a number of youth and educational organisations, among them there are the South African BRICS Youth Association (SABYA), the Durban University of Technology (South Africa) and the First Lady of Zimbabwe's Angel of Hope Charitable Foundation. As an international partner, the media network supports Africa Energy Week, Thokoza Film Festival, and Festac Africa.
