TV BRICS International Media Network receives professional international award in Mexico

The jury recognised the high ethical and professional standards of TV BRICS' activities

The TV BRICS International Media Network has been recognised as a laureate of the national and international journalism awards, held for the 72nd time by the Journalists’ Club of Mexico. TV BRICS was honoured for its international journalistic activities. The award was accepted on behalf of the network by Anastasia Shishkalova, Head of the Latin America Cooperation Department at the TV BRICS International Cooperation Directorate.

In 2024, over 300 journalistic works from 26 countries were submitted for the competition. The award featured 22 categories, with other winners including TV BRICS' Latin American partners, the Prensa Latina news agency (Cuba) and teleSUR (Venezuela).

"The honorary jury of the National and International Journalism Awards provided an objective evaluation of TV BRICS' activities in reliable and constructive event coverage, as well as its commitment to cultural and civilisational pluralism. The network’s international efforts deserve special recognition, with TV BRICS now holding a reputation as an influential media outlet that showcases a new approach to creating and disseminating high-quality content and information analysis. TV BRICS is a well-deserved winner of the 2024 competition, during which the jury reviewed over 300 journalistic works from Mexico and 25 other countries," said Diego Pappalardo, International Coordinator of the Honorary Jury of the Journalists’ Club of Mexico.

He also emphasised that the ethical and professional standards upheld by TV BRICS have drawn attention from media outlets worldwide, including in Mexico, fostering interest in collaboration with the network.

"Today, Mexican society is increasingly interested in the multilateral BRICS format, which contributes to international stability, the development of humanitarian cooperation, and the enrichment of global cultures," Pappalardo added in an exclusive statement for TV BRICS.

Anastasia Shishkalova noted that TV BRICS currently partners with over a dozen media outlets across Latin America. These include the National Assembly of Venezuela’s ANTV channel, teleSUR (Venezuela), Prensa Latina (Cuba), digital platforms Ahora San Juan and BRICSLat, the AsiaTv portal and Extra! TV channel (Argentina), ZONA D channel (Colombia), and digital media outlets El Ciudadano and Crónica Digital (Chile).

"During Russia's BRICS Presidency, TV BRICS significantly expanded its work in Spanish-speaking regions. The Spanish version of tvbrics.com was launched, alongside a dedicated Spanish-language internet broadcasting stream. TV BRICS also participated in the International Journalism Forum ‘The New Operation Truth,’ held in Havana, Cuba, in January 2024. With TV BRICS' support, professionals in energy and theatrical arts from BRICS and Latin American countries completed internships in Russia"

The Journalists’ Club of Mexico, one of the oldest and most prestigious media organisations in the country, has been presenting its awards since 1952. Each year, the professional jury recognises the most significant achievements in global media.
