TV BRICS launches new documentary project on international coordination in food security

TV BRICS presents documentary series on Russia’s agro-industrial sector

The TV BRICS International Media Network is launching a new media project dedicated to grain production and international coordination in ensuring food security. The documentary series “BRICS Grain” explores the agricultural and economic significance of different types of grain, the achievements of Russia’s agricultural regions, grain exports, and agricultural and bakery technologies.

The premiere of the programme will take place on 4th November 2025 on the Russian-language TV BRICS channel. Following its release in Russia, the “BRICS Grain” series will be adapted into foreign languages and distributed to the network’s media partners in various countries.

"The international media project ‘BRICS Grain’ performs an important ideological function by highlighting the development of Russia’s agro-industrial complex and cooperation among BRICS countries in the context of food security. At the same time, it serves as an effective format for promoting Russia’s export potential in the global information space and for shaping the brand of agricultural products.
The ‘BRICS Grain’ project includes not only a wide release through leading BRICS media outlets and participation in international and national film festivals but also educational initiatives – including televised events for studying Russian as a foreign language with a focus on agriculture"

The “BRICS Grain” series consists of eight 26-minute episodes, each dedicated to a specific type of grain and the Russian regions where it is cultivated and processed. The premiere season features films about wheat, rye, maize, buckwheat, barley, oats, rice, and legumes. Filming took place in the Kuban, the Volga region, Siberia and Central Russia, including the Republic of Tatarstan, the Altai and Krasnodar Territories, and the Kaluga, Lipetsk, Saratov, and Tula Regions.

Consultants involved in the project include leading experts from the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) and federal research centres, among them the K. A. Timiryazev Institute of Plant Physiology of the RAS, the Research Institute of the Bakery Industry, the N. I. Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources, the Federal Agricultural Research Centre for the South-East Region, and the Federal Research Centre for Nutrition, Biotechnology and Food Safety.

The “BRICS Grain” programme will be broadcast on TV BRICS from November 2025 to January 2026. The first film is dedicated to wheat – one of Russia’s main export products.

The documentary series “BRICS Grain” is produced with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The project aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals on food and nutrition and with the final declaration of the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, which emphasises the importance of ensuring food security and nutrition, as well as developing national strategies and international coordination aimed at improving food availability, resilience, stability, and quality.
