TV BRICS presents TV content from BRICS countries to Russian broadcasters
On Wednesday, November 29, the "Peering forum 2023" took place in WTC Congress Centre, Moscow. The event was attended by representatives of domestic telecom operators, content providers, cloud platforms, TV channels and government agencies.
At the forum, two parallel thematic streams "Infrastructure and Network Services" and "Video content+" hosted round tables, panel discussions, where analytical and technical reports were presented on the development of Internet infrastructure, network connectivity, media market development trends, use of modern IP-technology capabilities for the production, distribution and protection of audiovisual content.
"Russian national content began to develop dynamically a few years ago. But recently we have also seen active purchase of Asian and Latin American films and series," said Grigory Kuzin, director of the Media Logistic project.
At the Peering Forum, the largest telecom conference in Russia, TV BRICS presented formats for co-operation with foreign content producers.
Thanks to an expanded network of media partners in the BRICS+ countries, the Russian channel TV BRICS (part of the TV BRICS Media Network) is able to show high-quality TV content produced abroad: TV programmes and documentaries.
"Today we co-operate with more than 60 professional media resources in the BRICS countries and the BRICS+ area. We work on a content exchange system with Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Mozambique, Egypt, Venezuela, Cuba, Argentina. Our principle is exactly a content sharing system. We promote content of our own production and content from our Russian producers to foreign media, adapt it into the languages of the BRICS countries and distribute it through TV channels and websites abroad. This process works in the opposite direction as well. This allows us to attract original content from TV channels in these countries, which we receive in their national languages, adapt, duplicate, and this content is exclusively broadcast on TV BRICS and our Internet platforms"Janna Tolstikova CEO of TV BRICS
"This year, we received several TV programme lines from a partner TV channel in Venezuela, and in addition, the Chinese TV series "Beautiful Youth" and "Life is Beautiful". As with any other content, we present them not only on TV BRICS, but also to regional media partners. Our mission is to promote a positive image of Russia and the Russian media industry in general abroad through various formats of video content through the platform of professional media in foreign countries and, on the contrary, to promote the image of these countries and the united agenda of the BRICS group here in Russia through our TV channel and Russian media resources," she emphasised.
The CEO of the media network noted several TV BRICS projects that are broadcast abroad: documentaries about Russia's gold mining industry "Magadan Silver", "More Precious than Gold", and the programme series "Language of Dance". The second season of the programme "City of Stories" about small towns in Russia is being broadcast on the platform of the Chinese resource CGTN RUS. This is the most widely distributed TV BRICS project in foreign media: the first season was shown in Brazil (on two TV channels), South Africa, China, Venezuela and other countries.
In Russia, TV BRICS Media Network is represented by its own media resources: the 24-hour TV channel TV BRICS, as well as the online edition tvbrics.com. The Russian-language channel broadcasts throughout the Russian Federation — live streaming is available on the website, RUTUBE, Telegram, and VK. TV BRICS programmes can be viewed on OTT platforms (Smotreshka, Peers.TV, 24 ChasaTV, Vintera.TV , Lime HD). TV BRICS is also available to subscribers of the Wink video service of the Rostelecom network on the 60th button.
In addition, blocks of TV BRICS programmes are regularly aired by the network's partner channels in Russia: "Prodvizhenie" with an audience of 25 million people, NZhK (broadcast in 14 regions of the country), "Mordovia 24", "Channel 10" (Saransk).
Peering Forum is the largest Russian conference that has been organised since 2005.
