In turn, TV BRICS will adapt materials from its partners into foreign languages, publish them on its platforms and distribute them through its network, which already includes more than 70 media outlets from around the world.
Channel ZONA D was founded in 2019. Specialises in news from the southwestern region of Colombia and themes of entrepreneurship, culture and sports. It broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the departments of Cauca, Narino and Valle. The channel has a technical reach of 18 million subscribers.
"The collaboration with TV BRICS will allow us to show the world the cultural richness of Colombia's regions and will open the way for the promotion of quality audiovisual content that broadcasts the values that unite us and lead to the common goal of building a better world where cultural diversity is supported and respected in all its forms. Channel Zona D and TV BRICS will work to build bridges between our audiences, to strengthen Colombia's fraternity, creativity and international communication with the BRICS+ countries," said Juan Manuel Rincon, Former National Culture Council of Colombia and Cultural Manager of the Secretariat of Culture and Tourism of Popayan.
Colombia is the 22nd country to join the co-operation with the TV BRICS International Media Network. In Latin America, for example, more than a dozen media outlets partner with the network, including teleSUR, which broadcasts in Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia and Nicaragua, and Extra! (Argentina).
"Latin America is becoming increasingly attentive to BRICS, which creates a demand for objective information about the members and partners of the association. TV BRICS is open to co-operation with all countries of the world and is pleased to welcome the first partners from the Republic of Colombia, which has expressed interest in joining BRICS as a full member in 2024.
