UAE and Ghana join forces for sustainable forest and climate development
The UAE and Ghana have announced the establishment of a joint public-private investment coordination mechanism aimed at sustainable development of the forest and climate sectors. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
The countries announced a new US$30 million partnership aimed at sustainable development of Ghana's local communities and addressing climate challenges.
The partnership follows the signing of a letter of intent between UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak and Ghana's Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Samuel Abdulai Jinapor.
Investments will be made in six key areas under the partnership, ranging from biodiversity conservation to reforestation and agroecology.
This biodiversity programme is an important step towards sustainable development and biodiversity conservation globally.
