UAE and Indonesia plan to actively co-operate in organising sports events

The two sides want to develop school and university competitions together

The General Authority of Sports (GAS) of the UAE and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Abu Dhabi. This was reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of the TV BRICS.

The parties plan to maximise the use of administrative, human and material resources to develop joint sports development programmes. The arrangements involve exchange of experiences and reciprocal visits by government officials, experts, athletes, coaches and researchers.

In addition, Indonesia and the UAE plan to share technology and information in the sports sector.

The countries are going to implement professional development programmes. This will be achieved through jointly developed training programmes and seminars. Moreover, both sides will promote sporting events, including school and university events.

The signatories were UAE Minister of Education and GAS Chairman Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi and Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo. Representatives from the UAE sports sector and a high-level Indonesian delegation were also present.
