UAE confirms schools readiness for new academic year
In UAE was held a press briefing in which Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education and her colleagues confirmed that all schools are prepared to welcome students.
During the briefing, Al Amiri emphasised that proactive plans were put in place before the end of the previous school year to ensure optimal conditions for the start of the new school year. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
The ministry prepared and inaugurated 25 new and renovated schools and carried out extensive infrastructure renovation works in 311 educational institutions.
A special commission set up in January oversaw the preparation of schools as well as ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment.
Important steps included printing about 10 million textbooks and digitising more than 3.7 million books, as well as distributing 34,000 laptops to fifth and ninth grade students.
