“Uniting Rhapsody”: musicians from different parts of the world recorded Queen`s song under lockdown.

Today, almost the whole world is in a state of isolation, this time has become a challenge for each of us, and everyone copes with it in their own way. Some people try to reread books that have been waiting for their turn for years, some have finally found time for sports, some are obsessed with all kinds of online courses. Creative people don't waste time either.

So, young musicians from different parts of the world joined together in a Network to create new works despite the limitations and hardships of the current situation. For their campaign, they chose the song written by Queen in 1975, which became the most listened song of the XX century - “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

Artists from Russia, the USA, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan and Switzerland participated in the creation of the cover version. Everyone, staying at home, played and recorded their part of the tune. After that, the pieces of the composition were combined. The final video was presented by the musicians to everyone who needs support during this difficult COVID-19 time.

"Together with friends from different countries, we prepared Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. I hope that it will warm your hearts during this difficult time", Anastasia Ushakova, the winner of the IX International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, cellist and blogger, says.

Joshua Brown, Anna Chenchikova, Ruslan Turuntaev, Mauro Paolo Monopoli, Simon Buerki, Anastasia Ushakova and Lisa Yasuda participated in the recording.

Before recreating "Bohemian Rhapsody", the musicians held a challenge on the Internet, in which they showed that the power of music can unite all people on the planet, even when the borders of the countries are closed and visits are extremely undesirable. Furthermore, each artist played and recorded their favorite folk songs.

The musicians published the resulting video on Instagram. You can find it using the hashtag #unitingrhapsody.
