Value of China’s key AI industries exceeds US$175 billion in 2025

The value of China’s key industries in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) exceeded US$175 billion in 2025, reports by the Belt and Road News Network (BRNN), a partner of TV BRICS, citing Li Lecheng, China's Minister of Industry and Information Technology.

According to him, the number of enterprises operating in the AI sector in China exceeded 6,200 last year. By the end of 2025, AI technologies had been introduced at more than 30 per cent of manufacturing enterprises with an annual revenue of at least US$2.9 million.

Chinese companies have released more than 300 models of humanoid robots. It is also reported that AI models developed in the country are gaining popularity worldwide. Over the past year, China ranked first globally in the number of downloads of open-source AI models.

In the government work report, artificial intelligence has been identified as one of the priority areas for development.

This year, China plans to advance the intelligent economy by expanding the use of AI in key industries, launching infrastructure projects to create ultra-large intelligent computing clusters, coordinating their operation with energy networks and accelerating the development of satellite internet.
