Vietnam and China bolster cross-border railway cooperation with new protocol
Hanoi hosted the 44th Vietnam-China Border Railway Conference, where officials from both nations signed a key protocol to enhance cooperation in cross-border railway transport.
This agreement underscores a shared commitment to improving the efficiency and connectivity of rail services between the two countries, as reported by Vietnam News Agency (VNA), a partner of TV BRICS.
Tran Thien Canh, Director General of the Vietnam Railway Authority (VNRA) and head of the Vietnamese delegation, highlighted the conference's role in resolving operational challenges and updating the longstanding railway protocol. After two days of negotiations, delegates reached consensus on several critical aspects, ensuring smoother international transport of goods, passengers, and tourists.
The protocol addresses technical, organisational, and operational issues, reflecting the evolving needs of modern railway networks.
This enhanced cooperation is set to reinforce cultural and economic ties while driving mutual development in the region.
