Vietnam’s AI investment grows eightfold
With US$80 million funneled into artificial intelligence in 2023, Vietnam emerges as a rising regional hub for innovation
Vietnam's investment in artificial intelligence (AI) surged eightfold last year compared to the previous year, rising from from US$10 million to US$80 million. This is reported by Vietnam News Agency (VNA), a partner of TV BRICS.
The country secured US$2.3 billion in investment disbursements across 141 deals in 2023. This data comes from a recently published report on innovation and private capital trends.
Beyond automation, AI is rapidly expanding into key sectors such as finance, healthcare, and e-commerce, enabling smarter decision-making and greater operational efficiency. Notably, early-stage investments under US$500,000 jumped by 73 per cent, signaling a revival in startup activity.
Analysts note that the country is entering a new phase of growth, driven by innovation and technological advancement. Once seen as an emerging market, it has now become a strategic destination for tech investment in the region, supported by a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem and government-led initiatives.
