Vietnam has announced a new national target to position its economy among the world’s 30 largest by 2030, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh said during a recent address. This is reported by Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

By the end of the decade, Vietnam also aims to secure the third position among ASEAN economies while maintaining an average annual GDP growth rate of 10 per cent or higher throughout the 2026–2030 period.

According to projections, the country’s GDP per capita is expected to reach around US$8,500 by 2030, reflecting Vietnam’s strategic focus on high-value industries, innovation, and sustainable development.

Official data from the National Statistics Office indicates that Vietnam’s GDP expanded by 7.85 per cent year-on-year in the first nine months of 2025, demonstrating continued economic momentum driven by strong exports, manufacturing, and domestic consumption.

The government’s long-term vision places emphasis on technological transformation, digital infrastructure, and green growth as key pillars for advancing towards its 2030 development objectives.
