Wang Yi: China and Egypt have ushered in a golden era of bilateral relations
During a recent meeting in Cairo, China's Foreign Minister, Wang Yi expressed a desire to strengthen strategic mutual trust between China and Egypt and to support each other in safeguarding their core interests.
Wang Yi stated that China is prepared to collaborate with Egypt on implementing their comprehensive strategic partnership plans, deepening practical cooperation in various fields and supporting Egypt's economic and social development. This is reported by China Daily, a partner of TV BRICS.
Furthermore, China recognises Egypt's significance in the Arab, African, and Islamic regions as a developing nation. This year, China is going to host the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum and a new session of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum.
Wang Yi also congratulated Egypt on becoming a member of the BRICS group and expressed China's readiness to work with Egypt in strengthening BRICS cooperation. Together, they aim at building a multipolar world.
Egypt was the first country on the Chinese foreign minister's tour of African countries.
