Winners of International Award-Competition KARDO in Costa Rica to represent their country in Grand Final

Two winners of the national stage of the only in the world award for contribution to the development of street culture and sports "KARDO" of the presidential platform "Russia – the Country of Opportunities" have been determined. The competition took place in Costa Rica. Dancer Jeffrey Delgado and rider Gamaliel Osegueda will represent their country in the Grand Final, which will be held in Stavropol on 22-25 August.

In June, the Costa Rican capital, San Jose, hosted the qualifying stage of the award in two areas – "Breaking"and "BMX".

"Friends, each national stage impresses not only with the scale but also with the talents of the participants. Your skills have captivated spectators on the street and those watching the event online. Together we create a community of street culture and sports figures, where everyone has the opportunity to show themselves and reveal their talents," said Alexey Agafonov, First Deputy Director General of ANO "Russia – the Country of Opportunities".

The year 2024 marks the 7th season of the project. More than 1 thousand street culture and sports figures will take part in 10 national stages of the award.

"The 7th season of 'KARDO' was marked not only by the expansion of geography, but also by the appearance of national stages. This event has generated a huge interest among people all over the world, who are looking forward to taking part in the project. Recently, the national phase in Costa Rica was completed in two tracks, once again confirming the global nature of the competition. This project unites people from different countries, regardless of politics, and gives them an opportunity to develop their potential in the sphere of street culture and sports," commented Valentin Rabotenko, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Public Chamber Commission on Physical Culture, Sports and Healthy Lifestyle, Chairman of the all-Russian public organisation "Streets of Russia".

"KARDO's" ambassador in Costa Rica, Aldo Alejandro Barahona Brizio, assisted in the organisation of the national stage and provided support to the municipality of Curridabat.

"I did my best to organise the event at the highest level. It is gratifying that the Costa Rican government has appreciated the national stage and is willing to help promote the event in the future," he commented.

The organisers of the contest-award in 2024 are ANO "Russia – the Country of Opportunities", the All-Russian public organisation of street culture and sports "Streets of Russia", the government of the Stavropol Territory, and the municipality of Curridabat. The competition is supported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), the Presidential Grants Fund, the Public Chamber of Russia and the North Caucasus Federal University.
