World record set in Vladivostok
A world record was set in Vladivostok, where the longest mass training session ever took place. At the same time, 15 different sports were practised in one location for 10 hours without a break.
"This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Russian Book of Records. By the way, no such record has ever been held in Russia or in the world. I don't think anyone will beat it any time soon," said Stanislav Konenko, editor-in-chief and founder of the Russian Book of Records.
The action was held within the framework of the upcoming 7th "Children of Asia" International Sports Games. The event starts once in every four years in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and beyond. The games were first held in 1996 to mark the 100th anniversary of the modern Olympic movement. The main aim is to unite the nations of the Asian continent, develop sports and strengthen friendships between children from different countries.
“About 26 states have applied, these are countries of the Asian region. The number of participants is determined based on the fact that the "Ocean", the athletes' village, can accommodate 1650 people. There will also be about 700 judges, 300 country representatives. About 5,000 people will arrive," said Elmir Valitov, director of the "Children of Asia" Games Directorate.
All 15 sports of record action will be presented at the 7th "Children of Asia" International Sports Games this summer. The competition will be held from 27 July to 8 August in Vladivostok.
