15th BRICS Summit: Geopolitics, Finance, Economy, Innovation and Sustainable Development

The 15th BRICS Summit started with the Business Forum, where participants discussed the economic prospects of the alliance. According to Sergey Katyrin, Chairman of the Russian part of the Business Council, the main potential of BRICS is people and honest relations between them. This means that we can talk about tools for expanding co-operation in all areas - trade, investment, industry, agriculture, development of small and medium-sized businesses.

At the plenary session, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa stated the need for fundamental reforms of financial institutions. Brazilian leader Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva supported the creation of a single BRICS currency, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi noted the growing importance of the BRICS Business Council. Russian President Vladimir Putin also emphasised this.
