The project of the Russian team: giving the algae spirulina a vanilla flavor. The new properties are the result of genetic modifications. The experiments have been going on for about a year.
The algae grows locally, which means there is no need to bring it in all the time, and it produces oxygen, and contains protein almost more than meat. Only the taste is not so good. The problem in our country has been studied for decades. A student team seems to have found the answer. Potential investors are already showing interest in the development.
