The BRICS Media Forum traditionally opens ahead of the Summit of the Five and is held in the presiding country. Thus, more than 150 delegates met in Johannesburg to discuss a number of important topics, including the role of media in economic development and innovation and the formation of a new world order.
Since 2015, the Media Forum of the Five has been organised by Xinhua News Agency. Its CEO Fu Hua noted the importance of expanding co-operation between the media of the BRICS countries, as well as the entire African continent. An example of successful organisation of information exchange is the international TV BRICS network.
