My India. Festival "Bandi Chor Diwas"

A place of varied traditions and rich cultural diversity, India celebrates a number of different festivals that give out of message of bravery, freedom and highlight the glorious history of our ancestors. One such festival is that of ‘Bandi Chor Diwas’ which was recently celebrated in Amritsar city by people of the Sikh community to mark the release of Guru Hargobind Sahib from the clutches of a Mughal Emperor.

Festivals in India are a show of cultural traditions that hold a sacred space in the ancient history of the country. Showcasing the culture and traditions of the mighty Sikh community, people in Amritsar city of Punjab gathered together to celebrate the ‘Bandi Chor Diwas’ which literally translates to Prisoner Liberation Day.
