My India. Harvest festival Kati Bihu

Being an agrarian society, India celebrates a number of harvest festivals that form an integral part of the country’s cultural legacy and over the centuries they have evolved in various forms. One such festival is Kati Bihu of Assam which is observed on the first day of the month of Kartik in the Assamese Calendar.

Bihus, the major festivals of Assam, are celebrated with great jest and zeal. The spirit of people is at an all time high with the whole state coming together for celebrations and prayers for a good harvest.
