My India. Life at the eastern most Changthang region of Ladakh

The lifestyle and culture of Changpas which is a nomadic community of pastoralists living in Changthang plateau of Ladakh has remained unexposed since long.

Even after being known for making the world’s finest Pashmina, this semi-nomadic tribe never got the due attention.

But recently, the region grabbed eyeballs as it played host to the two-day Ladakh Nomadic Festival at its Korzok Phu area.

Organised by the Ladakh Cultural Academy in collaboration with Ladakh Tourism Department, the event was inaugurated by the Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor, R K Mathur.

While addressing the gathering of villagers, LG assured to provide the best of facilities to the people of the region.
